HALF A HUNDRED IDEOGRAMS FOR CHU

Some may win a Nobel prize for translation and remixing, others may end up confined to a detention center.

It is not our job to say what our precursors ought to have done, but we can try to find out why they did it. –Ezra Pound, Typescript for a preliminary survey. (1951)

Chinese Keyboard EXHIBIT #3

Musing on the ideogramic method of Ezra Pound and how he remixed some of the Chinese Characters into his great poem including History “The Cantos”; i asked myself “how much more quickly and effectively someone like POUND or Ernest FENOLLOSA could have worked with the kind of webnet tools we have freely available in 2008? New Schudio

I’ve been looking into getting a new studio for a while, since moving back down to London last december. I’ve actually found a really nice set of buildings in Hackney Wick.

This part of the city is in a bit of limbo. Its a major transport network and its also where the developments for the Olympic Games begin. There’s blue boardings all around the Olympic site. I chose this site as opposed to any other since there were very little distractions in the vicinity. In fact the only distraction is the ammount of glorious dirt !!!!

I’ll be uploading some work from there as soon as its in its inception.
