Capsule is an organisation based in Birmingham, UK that curates art and events (website). They asked me to design their first ever Supersonic festival imagery in 2003. My treatment incorporated an image of a woman from an adult magazine from the 1970s and this was superimposed with large phono plugs to suggest a ‘sexy-audio’. We created two different flyer designs and a street poster, aswell as a curious promotional tool, the telephone box calling card.

One idea, used later, was the use of the male and female version of audio sockets to overtly express a sense of sex in audio.

Going back through my work of the last few years, there is a clear track with audio components. From the paintings with Ikonoklast, drawings and paintings for Monorex, on tube trains and more regularly with my freestyle work. Finding the new path for my work was maybe there all along.
